Methodology:
The stinging reduction efficacy of the dual actives in Dermal Therapy Lip Balm Sensitive were evaluated on 15 healthy female and male volunteers, aged between 19 and 45. A control (base + 7% lactic acid) and Lip Balm Sensitive + 7% Lactic acid were applied in a random order on the sensitive area around the nose and upper lips. The stinging scores perceived upon application of each test product for 5 minutes were compared. The level of stinging was scored from 0 (no stinging) to 4 (extreme stinging) after 5 minutes of application.
Results:
Dermal Therapy Lip Balm Sensitive containing the dual actives, significantly reduces the stinging sensation caused by lactic acid by 64.8 % as compared to the control. Hence, It can be concluded that Dermal Therapy Lip Balm Sensitive effectively soothes and relieves irritated skin.*
